4th October 2017
We have recently got back from Assen, after Jamie took part in the Dutch Superbike/Supersport class of the British Super Bikes. We thought we had resolved the electrical problem on the bike only to find it was still apparent. The bike was taken to the dyno and received a diagnostics check to try to resolve the issue once and for all.
Sadly the bike would not recreate the issue when we needed it to so we took it with us to Assen anyway, and attempted to fix it over the race weekend. Jamie only had two qualifying sessions and finally the race in the class we had entered him into. He managed to complete a full lap in first qualifying session, during horrendous rain before the bike started to cut the engine and he had to retire.
We placed the bike on another dyno again and found that the battery had been massively overcharging. So we changed the battery, and sent Jamie out in the roughly halfway into the second qualifying session. The track was still wet, and despite the bike still playing up with the same issue he managed to qualify 28th out of 43. We then changed the ecu and the relating parts to one we had been loaned to try, and this seems to have resolved the issue. We will go in to final round next weekend at Brands Hatch feeling positive and strong with the bike.
Jamie went well in the race and was gaining places despite being up against much bigger engined bikes and tuned bikes. He was then unfortunately hit bike another bike forcing them both on to the gravel. He made it back on to the track and managed to make back some of the places he had lost finishing in 28th.
All in all an eventful weekend, but a great result with virtually no track time.
Thank you again for your continued support and I will supply photos over the weekend from Assen.

Sorry for the double update, but it was a bit of a whirlwind doing back to back races. Jamie did well at Silverstone and continued to improve on his times every lap. The weather played a bit of a part in things as well, but nowhere near as much as Oulton Park.
His first session at Oulton was the first of the weekend and the track conditions were quite bad, with a lot of dirt and oil on the track. So we took the decision to wait it out until the next session before sending him out. He went out in free practice and made some good headway. So when he went into qualifying his lap times were faster than his previous sessions by quite some margin.
On The race day, the weather shifted again towards terrible heavy rain condition. Jamie was confident and looking forward to the race, but when he went out on his out lap the bike started to struggle with an electrical problem. The problem we thought we had finally found rea red it's head again and the bike cut out on him 3 times on the out lap and ride through lap. He then got taken off the starting grid as it had cut out and would not restart. He got it started in pit lane and decided to try to race and flew out of pit lane when he could get past all the people who were trying to cross pit lane to get to the pit wall.
He overtook 2 people and was confident he could catch and overtake the next 2 when it cut out again and continued to do so throughout the race. He managed to finish the race, but in 27th due to the continued problem. We have another part to change which apparently can cause this problem. Fingers crossed for Assen.
Thank you for your continued support this year and will keep you posted.
17th April 2017
Jamie started this weekend really positively beating his personal best around Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in the first free practice session on Friday. Saturday saw further success when he knocked 2 seconds from Friday and made it into the 51 second lap times. Once again on Sunday Jamie made progress and qualified with a 51.007 lap time. At the start of the weekend both Leon and Jamie set a target of doing a 50 second lap times and making it into the top 25. Monday showed real progress with Jamie doing a 50.5 second lap and finishing the race in 24th position.
We aren't there yet but all of the team at JPA racing are really pleased with the weekend and the progress that Jamie has made and we definitely seem to be heading in the right direction!
Many thanks again to all the sponsors and fans who came to the event to cheer Jamie on.

Was a good weekend overall at Donington Park. Jamie qualified in position 33 during practices, but on the race day he managed to finish in 26th, a very positive start to the season. However he did end up with a small arm injury (Known as arm pull), which required a quick visit to the track physician immediately after the race.
Jamie thoroughly enjoyed himself, and thank you to the sponsors who came to visit him throughout the weekend.
